“Biggest Loser” Update

As you know, I’m currently in the final stretch of a “Biggest Loser” contest with 14 other guys.
As promised I will update all of you on my progress during the contest.
Well at the initial weigh-in I weighed 245 lbs.
At the First periodic weigh-in I weighed 229lbs
For this past weigh-in I was at 224lbs (I was sick for 3 weeks and couldn’t workout).
This leaves me with a weight loss of 8.57%
Which is good enough for only 3rd place right now with about 5 weeks to go (April 19th is “D-Day”)
The guy in 1rst went from 168.6 lbs to 149.2 lbs (11.51%).
Second place occupant went from 242lbs to 215lbs (11.16%).
I currently have lost about 6 more lbs and currently weigh 218lbs.
I’m a bit shocked about the 1rst place guy right now. He’s only 5ft tall and could lose alot more but I’m hoping he’ll plateau and not lose too much more.
The guy in 2nd place is about my size and his wife just had a baby so I’m not sure why he’s actually losing all that weight. When does he have time to work out?
Either way, I think if I can lose about 4lbs a week for the next 5 weeks, I might have a shot to win. That would put me at 198lbs and loss of 47lbs (19.18%). The trick is to do it without starving myself.
The key thing I wanted to do was to continue lifting weights as I didn’t want to look skeletal at the end of the competition. So if I gain some muscle and sabotage myself I’m ok with that. As long as I continue to improve my body’s look and the way I feel I can gladly accept losing.
But I never quit “until the bell rings”.
Keep rooting for me and I’ll try to “Bring Home The Gold” (or insert any other tired cliche here instead)
