Don’t Drink The Obama-Aid

My friend over at Toxic Kindness has a great post today on democrat Presidential Candidate, Barack Hussein Obama. I think he’s nailed it in terms of the question;

 ”Is Nice Enough?”.

I know the author personally.

So much so that our agreements and disagreements over politics can last well into several days if we really get going.  I agree with him that Barack hasn’t shown much in the way of anything other than the “nice”.

However I cannot agree that Barack Hussein Obama deserves anyone’s consideration for a vote.

Where’s The Leadership?

Barack Hussein Obama has not shown much in the way of leadership in the few years he’s been in the U.S. Senate. His record there is very thin. Add to that his record in the Illinois state government where he was more likely to vote “present” than breathe and I start to wonder if the guy has even had to make a tough decision as a leader yet. In fact the most leadership I think I’ve seen of his entire record is as a “Community Organizer”.

Now I know a few community organizers. But I don’t think I want them to make a decision on whether to strike at terrorists or not.

Is It Change? Or Rhetoric?

Barack Hussein Obama is still a politican. He still knows that what drives votes is money and power. Forgive me if I doubt every word that comes out of his mouth.  One strong piece of evidence is the fact that during the democrat debate in Ohio last week, Obama flat out lied and then when trying to back-track from that lie, he insulted a foreign country in the process.

Obama was trying to pander to the audience. Ohio has been hit by economic woes, in recent years, due to a number of factors (the least of which is NAFTA). So what did Obama do? He promised to get rid of NAFTA (I believe the quote was he’d “tear it up”).

It was a lie!!

In other words, he lied to the voters in Ohio in order to seem like the “agent of change”. but in reality he has no intention of changing NAFTA.

Now, you may be shocked… just shocked… that a politican would lie. But Barack is supposed to be the honest broker who is promising change.

And if he is just more of the same with a different melody, then color me unimpressed.

Mending Fences?

What is more, is that when his campaign retracted the story it insulted the Canadians by making it seem that they were too stupid to understand his message.

At a time when our current President Bush is actually mending fences (or more to the point, the rest of the world is finally coming on-board with the U.S) it is amazing that the candidate who wants to succeed him cannot even manage a positive relationship with, of all countries, Canada.

And this is the guy some people want to confront Iran and other “bad guys” in the world?

Shady Friends

Robert Novak has a piece in the Washington Post where he outlines Obama’s relationship with Antoin “Tony” Rezko who is currently on trial for influence peddling.

What does Rezko have to do with Obama and how can he hurt him? According to Novak’s piece;

Obama bought a mock Georgian mansion on Chicago’s South Side on June 15, 2005, the same day Rezko’s wife bought a plot next door from the same seller. Obama then purchased from Rezko another parcel at above-market value. Federal prosecutors recently revealed that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi billionaire who lives in London, wired $3.5 million to the financially strapped Rezko in Chicago less than a month before the Obama-Rezko purchases. James Bone, an investigative reporter for the Times of London, wrote last Tuesday that “the money transfer raises the question of whether funds” from Auchi “helped” Obama buy his house.

Uh oh.

Obama, if he’s smart, will get out in front of this and tell all he can as soon as he can. This isn’t Whitewater but it has a chance to damage or even destroy his political career.

Is Barack Hussein Obama Christ Reborn?

I ask that question sort of tongue-in-cheek because, to the outsider, it looks like he has the ability to completely snow his audience and make them want to do and say things they most likely wouldn’t.

George Clooney  said;

“He walks into a room and you want to follow him somewhere, anywhere”

Halle Berry had the following to say;

“I’ll do whatever he says to do, I’ll collect paper cups off the ground to make his pathway clear”

When I first read the comments by Ms. Berry, I had thought she was speaking of the Second Coming of Christ.

It turns out she was talking about a wimpy, whiny socialist cult-leader from Illinois.

I say cult because it looks, walks and quacks like one.

Witness what the glitterati came up with in order to worship Barack Obama.

Not to be outdone, they followed it up with an even more inane song.

Some quotes from both songs for those who have recently eaten and want to keep their food down;

“I would like to see us in a world without fear”

“I believe in Barack Obama because he believes in us”

“He’s almost like a revival for a lot of people’s souls”

He had a recent rally where the crowd was going wild when he was giving parenting advice like

“Feed them breakfast”

“Quack … Quack”

My take?

Stay far away from Barack Hussein Obama my friends. In fact, I probably don’t even need to tell you that as his veneer is slowly stripping away and people grow tired of him. He’s already seeing a number of blue-collar democrats (Reagan democrats) slip away. The whole reason he lost in Ohio was the fact that he garnered the white-collar but not the blue-collar democrats. I guess since they are the ones more likely to go to church, they tend to give a more skeptical eye to someone coming along and being praised and treated as if he was a god.

He’s promising change (whatever THAT is he won’t say). To that end he’s playing his followers much like Jim Jones in a South American jungle.

If the liquid they want you to drink is red and it this guy is lurking about.

I beg of you… don’t drink it.

    Grrr. Had a nice reply all written up and hit the damn back button. Alright, you get a pass tonight, pal, but look out… I’ll be back tomorrow! :)

    No worries Toxic. I know we may disagree on some things but we can be agreeable when we do :)

    Thai, a very well written piece that makes your point eloquently… and that I, in part, disagree with (you knew that was coming). But I did enjoy the read. It warrants a lot of response but I’d go on forever so I’ll hit points one at a time over the next few days.

    The one thing I absolutely disagree with is the not so subtle use of his middle name. So his name is Hussein. Thousands of people named Adolf in post WWII Germany weren’t forming Nazi parties and I don’t think it’s anymore likely that Barack is planning on throwing anybody in plastic shredders because of his middle name. I’m not saying you’re trying to capitalize on the convenience of Obama’s middle name but it’s certainly enough of a trite and obvious attempt at social manipulation by conservative spin doctors in the news lately that it turns me off the minute I see it. If you’re going to use it in anti-Obama writings then I expect to see Bill Clinton’s stock rise for his middle name (Jefferson), Jimmy Carter start doing voice over work for Darth Vader in Star Wars (James Earl), both former and current George Walker Bush be indicted on espionage charges (remember John Walker?) and Gerald Ford pulling a sleigh next Christmas (Rudolph). It’s a name; an unfortunate one, but still just a name. Mohammed Ali wasn’t a prophet. Nor can the Hispanic immigrant doing landscaping across the street from me turn water in to wine despite being named Jesus.

    My father gave me the names of a biblical giant-slaying king, a disciple and a butler. I’ve yet to find employment in any of those vocations, nor am I inclined to seek it. Our right wing government endorsed a replacement government in Iraq headed by a man named Talabani. Now where have I heard a very similar name to that before? So to borrow a very famous quote… what’s in a name?

  4. Thai on March 10th, 2008 12:03 am

    Sure. Point taken. However do we know about Hillary’s middle name? Sure do. She goes by Rodham (her maiden name - her original middle name is Diane). And WHY do we know about it??

    The Press referred, for years, to her as Hillary Rodham Clinton.

    Senator George Allen had the middle name of Felix. In the last ekection in 2006, the democrats and the Press had a field day with that name as well in a not-so-clever bid to cause some less than understanding people in Virginia to think him Jewish and not vote for him.

    Why is it that now that Obama has an unfortunate middle name that it is supposedly taboo?

    The reason its included in my post is precisely not for the reason you think. It is included because many recent politicians were referred to with all of their names (or at least 3). Why does he get a pass just because his name is really unfortunate? Its inclusion is my statement that I won’t cower to political correctness of the Left in trying to own the words we use and therefore silence critics.

    Hussein is his middle name. End of story.

    P.S. - when I write about Hillary I’ll include the middle name she goes by (Rodham). Same with McCain.

    Fair enough?

    A follow-up to my comment. A few questions come to mind;

    It looks like his campaign throws a hissy fit whenever someone speaks about his middle name. I guess things that are factual about him are off-limits just because it mars his carefully crafting marketing of his persona?

    Shouldn’t it concern us all that we cannot speak about the factual things about a candidate?

    Does that mean if he gets elected we won’t be able to criticize him about anything?

    I think one of the things that bugs me the most about his campaign is the “don’t criticize the messiah” vibe I get from it.

    Natrually it creates a backlash.

    That being said. I do agree with you that the inclusion of his name by some on the Right to somehow suggest that he is really some sort of covert candidate (pretending to be Christian but is really Muslim) is wrong.

    That was not my intention however

    Oh! you just brought up one of my pet peeves and hit the nail RIGHT on the head. The Obama campaign strategy I didn’t get to in the interest of keeping it short(ish) - taking offense.

    While I do credit him with enough poise to rise above the usual smear tactics, his handler’s habits of taking offense at every criticism lobbed their way has grown old. I’d much rather see him respond with indifference. Even disdain. I’d rather Obama 08 not play the wounded child and show, instead, some machismo. As I ended in the article, I’d like to see something resembling tough (note: not mean) out of the Obama camp.

    BHO wouldn’t be a problem if his campaign and supporters didn’t keep reacting to it :)

    Thai, nice post… still havn’t seen you over at TDR posting >< :) (and where’s that write-up I need?)

  9. Thai on March 10th, 2008 3:05 am

    Posted the other day my friend. And the write up is ready for you now. Check it out !!

    […] mean like his anti-NAFTA sentiments he has been espousing for months, but which really turn out to be a lie? Or his most recent anti-Colombia trade agreement […]
